My dog Jacobim is sick. He scratches himself more or less non-stop, and his skin has become red and scabbed and he has lost some fur. I have been to the vet about it several times but they have not yet managed to diagnose it. We have tried several treatments, but so far nothing has helped. The vet and I both suspect he is allergic to something, and he needs an extensive series of allergy tests. He also has a lump on one of his hind legs that the vet wants removed because it might be cancerous.
This will be expensive. He is not insured because I’m a scatterbrained idiot. He’s a big dog, an unusually large flatcoated retriever, and anesthethics alone cost a fortune, not to mention the lab work and surgery.
Due to a recent unforeseen and tragic event that I will not go into here, paying for this is a big problem. My dayjob is only part-time and barely sustains me. A few years ago he had a similar test + operation done, and judging by how much that cost I believe this vet bill will be about as much as two months pay for me, and I really want to take him to the vet as soon as possible.
So I’m asking for help. If you have ever thought about buying something from me, now would be a great time to do so.
I’ve put up a bunch of original paintings on eBay with low starting prices and no reserve. More originals as well as prints are available on my website. I’m prepared to negotiate prices.
